A high-profile development site on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas has attracted the attention of the country’s largest retailer.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is considering the former City Lights property at Live Oak Street and Good-Latimer Expressway, real estate brokers say.
A development with housing, retail and commercial space was previously planned for the roughly eight-acre site. But the ambitious project never got off the ground.
Although no deal has been signed yet to put a Walmart store on the City Lights tract, city officials and a representative of the investment partnership that owns the property confirm that the big retailer has been looking.
