Partnerships, DART drive real estate trends in 2011 – Dallas Business Journal

2011 brought a number of significant real estate projects to North Texas — many focused on public-private partnerships, transit-oriented developments and the proliferation of data centers.

— At the beginning of the year, the rezoning of 143 acres of land near the DART Bush Turnpike light-rail station in Richardson had economists saying the land slated for future transit-oriented development could bring $200 million in economic impact. Future development plans include retail, residential and office space off the DART Red Line, said Gary Thomas, president and executive director of Dallas Area Rapid Transit
