Here and there we’ve noted the city’s struggle to actually fund the 2011 Dallas Bike Plan. To that, City Hall has replied: We’re working on it. Or, more formally: “Staff is on track with implementing the recommendations of the adopted bike plan in a fiscally responsible manner that does not disrupt or delay other prior commitments and obligations. Several early implementation projects are in the works to establish strategic bike linkages between trails and key destinations.”
First up: the 3.9-mile section of the Central Core Connector Project mapped out in the Dallas Bike Plan that links the Santa Fe Trail and Katy Trail through downtown, otherwise known as Phase 1 of that particular project.
